Workshops
so you can train yourself and make the most of your adventure!
The best way to make the most of outdoor activities is to be properly prepared and equipped. To this end, we have developed various workshops so that you can learn how to choose the right equipment for each activity. We have specific workshops on equipment groups such as Sleeping Systems, Shelter Systems and Backpacks, and workshops on activities such as Traditional Trekking, Light Trekking and Family Camping. Check it out!
First aid in remote areas
Although life-saving first aid procedures are the same wherever you are, the way you think about and approach many problems will vary according to where you are and the resources you have at your disposal. We discussed the differences between first aid in urban areas and first aid in remote areas, and how to think when resources are limited.
Trekking shelters
In general, trekkers use tents as a way of sheltering from rain, wind and possibly snow. But tents aren’t the only types of shelter that exist. In this workshop, you’ll learn how to choose the right shelter for your activity, as well as how to use camping hammocks, tarp systems and bivak bags.
Family camping
More and more studies are being published on the benefits of contact with nature, both for children and the family as a whole. In this workshop, our aim is to show you that camping is not a big deal. We’ll explain what you and your family need to start your journey in nature without trauma. We’ll cover the main pieces of equipment, their differences and explain how they should be chosen.
Trekking accessories
Although classified as accessories, various pieces of equipment are essential for hiking and trekking, such as headlamps and trekking poles, among others. In this workshop, we talk about the technical differences so that accessories can be chosen appropriately for each type of activity and user preferences.
Equipment care and maintenance
Taking care of our equipment is essential. In this workshop you will learn how to carry out preventive maintenance and periodic maintenance of tents, sleeping bags, clothing, footwear and other groups of equipment for Camping, Hiking, Trekking and Trail Running.
Outdoor kitchen equipment
In this workshop, we show and explain the different types of equipment for Outdoor Cooking, such as stoves, pans, plates and other equipment. You will learn about the different types of stoves (vertical, integrated, remote), the different types of fuel and how to plan the choice of equipment for your next camping or trekking trip.
Trail running equipment
In this workshop, we present all the groups of equipment for trail running, such as footwear, backpacks and hydration belts, trekking poles and clothing. In addition, we give examples of trail running events with their respective checklists of mandatory equipment and suggestions of what to bring.
Beginning trekking
This workshop was created so that people who want to start trekking can understand the concepts behind this form of hiking and get to know the main groups of equipment, such as Backpacks, Sleeping Systems and Shelters. As well as giving an overview of the equipment used in this activity, we show a backpack set up for a 5-day self-sufficient trek and detail the use of each piece of equipment shown.
Backpacks for hiking and trekking
The idea of this workshop is to deepen your knowledge of backpacks. Participants will gain a better understanding of the types of backpacks that exist, the differences in terms of the design of each of these types of backpacks, as well as learning about ventilation in the back, the load transfer system and how to assemble, regulate and adjust the backpacks correctly.
Sleeping system for trekking
There’s nothing better than a good, refreshing night’s sleep after a day’s hiking. But to do this, it is essential to understand how the Sleeping System (Sleeping Bag + Thermal Insulation + Liner + Pillow) works, so that the choice of equipment is as appropriate as possible to the activity and the weather conditions to be encountered! In this workshop we’ll teach you how to stop freezing to death!
Light trekking
There’s a lot of talk these days about reducing the weight of trekking equipment. However, we have seen many mistaken decisions due to a lack of in-depth knowledge on the subject, which ends up putting the practitioner at risk. The aim of this workshop is to show what the concept of Trekking Light actually is and how we can make the transition from Traditional Trekking to Trekking Light in a conscious and safe way. As well as giving an overview of the equipment used in this activity, we show you a backpack of just 32 liters assembled for a self-sufficient 5-day trek and detail the use of each piece of equipment shown.
Traditional trekking
In this workshop we go more in-depth into the knowledge shown in the Beginning Trekking workshop. We give an overview of other groups of equipment such as the Cooking System and Clothing, always with a view to Traditional Trekking, where we use equipment that brings greater comfort when sleeping and eating. We show a 60-liter backpack assembled for a 5-day self-sufficient trek and detail the use of each piece of equipment shown.
Hiking and trekking clothing
Understand how the Layer System works in Hiking and Trekking clothing. You’ll learn the function of each of the three layers, the different technologies available on the market and how to choose the best equipment for your next adventure.
