Understand the Green Hub
The Green Hub is the center of Gear Tips’ sustainable initiatives, focused on minimizing our environmental impact and promoting eco-conscious practices. We highlight the Gas Cartridge Recycling Program and the neutralization of carbon emissions from our events and operations. Our commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals guides these initiatives, aiming to create a greener and more sustainable future for outdoor enthusiasts.
Promoting Sustainability and Environmental Awareness
The Gear Tips Green Hub represents the heart of our sustainable initiatives, driving environmental awareness and concrete actions to minimize our impact on the planet.
Gas Cartridge Recycling Program: Promoting Sustainability and Awareness
Winner of the prestigious Mountain Protection Award from the UIAA (Union Internationale des Association d'Alpinisme), our Gas Cartridge Recycling Program has established itself as a model of excellence in environmental preservation. Present in national and state parks throughout Brazil, as well as excursion clubs and stores, the program not only promotes recycling, but also educates and raises awareness about the importance of responsible waste management.
Carbon Neutralization: Commitment to the Environment
Our commitment to carbon neutrality is unwavering. Both our events and our operations are carbon neutral, thanks to the planting of trees in reforestation projects. Aligned with SDG 13 (Climate Action), this effort contributes to mitigating the impacts of climate change and preserving the environment for future generations.
Training and Education: Towards a Sustainable Future
In addition to the Gear Tips Green Hub, we invest in training and education, incorporating the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into our initiatives. SDG 4 (Quality Education) guides our CAPACITAR Program, providing technical training for professionals in the outdoor market. In addition, our Leave no Trace courses promote the protection of the terrestrial environment, contributing to the conservation of fragile ecosystems.
Partnerships and Global Engagement
As proud members of EOCA (European Outdoor Conservation Association), we engage in global campaigns to support conservation projects around the world. We also collaborate with Leave No Trace, an organization dedicated to spreading minimal impact techniques in natural environments, strengthening our commitment to sustainability.
Contributing to a Sustainable Future
We donate part of the proceeds from the Gear Tips Club to environmental conservation actions. In specific actions, 20% of the value of subscriptions goes to conservation projects, while 10% goes to the Recycling Program and another 10% feeds the CAPACITAR Program Scholarship Fund. In this way, each subscriber contributes directly to environmental preservation and sustainable development.
Promoting Sustainable Brands and Products
Our commitment to sustainability extends to promoting brands and products that adopt responsible practices. Through educational content, we highlight companies that use sustainable raw materials, eliminate harmful products such as PFCs and adhere to environmental quality certifications such as BlueSign and RDS (Responsible Down Standard). By sharing these stories, we inspire consumers to make conscious choices and support companies that are committed to the environment.
The Gear Tips Green Hub is more than an initiative; it’s a commitment to a more sustainable and conscious future, where nature is valued, protected and respected. Join us on this journey towards a better world.
