Recycling program expanded in Argentina

As an important step in its international expansion process, Gear Tips has installed its second Recycling Program collector in Argentina. This collector is available for outdoor activities at the Alsilta store in Neuquén, located at 270 Buenos Aires Street.

Gear Tips Celebrates World Recycling Day

On May 17, Gear Tips celebrates the important work it has been doing to spread the recycling process in the outdoor activities segment in Brazil. Through the Gear Tips Recycling Program, we promote a positive impact and encourage society to recycle its waste more and more.

Along with Gear Tips, we can also highlight our partners who have incorporated recycling into their actions: 213 Sports (recycling event tarpaulins), Conquista Montanhismo (recycling manufacturing waste), Deuter, CamelBak and Sea to Summit (manufacturing equipment with recycled raw materials), Curtlo (recycling backpacks), Kampa (recycling camping hammocks), Nos Alpes (certified with the Eu Reciclo label) and NTK (encourages the Gear Tips Recycling Program).

Recycling Program collector installed in Ceará

Continuing the process of expanding the Gear Tips Recycling Program, we are proud to announce that we have carried out the first installation of a collector in Ceará.

The collector was installed at the AC Spots store, located at Avenida Santos Dumont, 3465 – loja 2 – Aldeota, in Fortaleza/CE. Outdoor enthusiasts in the northeastern state will now be able to recycle the gas cartridges used in their adventures.

Gear Tips Recycling Program arrives in Argentina

The Gear Tips Recycling Program installs its first international collector. The project’s 30th collector is in operation at the Official Ansilta Store in Bariloche, Argentina. This way, adventurers from all over the world who are in Bariloche will have the chance to recycle the gas cartridges used in their activities.

The Total Sport Store – Ansilta’s official store – is located at 428 Mitre Street, R8400, San Carlos de Bariloche, Río Negro, Argentina.

Recycling project presented at UIAA course

The Gear Tips Recycling Program, winner of the Mountain Protect Award 2023, was presented to the audience at the International Mountain Sports Course of the International Union of Mountaineering Associations – UIAA in Bariloche/Argentina. In this way, the message of sustainability goes further and further afield, with the Project dialoguing on a daily basis with federations in various countries. The course, which took place between April 19 and 21, covered a range of topics, balancing theory with a number of practical activities organized by the Argentine Ski and Andean Federation – FASA.

Jurapê store in Joinville receives Gas Cartridge Collector

The Gas Cartridge Collector arrives in Joinville, Santa Catarina, at the Jurapê Equipamentos para Aventura store, located at Rua Fernando de Noronha, 204-B, in the Atiradores neighborhood.

The store has existed since 2012 and its name is a reference to Jurapê Peak, a symbol of regional mountaineering in Santa Catarina. Next to the store is the Jurapê Climbing Center, which since 2017 has been involved in training the new generation of climbers in the region.

Kmon publishes video on Recycling Program

A new partner of the Recycling Program, Kmon Adventure publishes a promotional video calling on the public to dispose of Camping Gas Cartridges properly.

Kmon is an adventure tourism operator and climbing school located in the South Zone of Rio de Janeiro, at Rua Dezenove de Fevereiro, Nº 23 (between Rua São Clemente and Voluntários da Pátria).

Top Spin store receives Recycling spotlight

In 2023, the outstanding partner in the Gear Tips Recycling Program was the Top Spin Store in Teresópolis, Rio de Janeiro! They sent 194 used gas cartridges for recycling. We would like to thank the TopSpin Store team and Flávio for all their support for the Recycling Program! That’s how we make a difference!

Caparaó receives first collector in National Park

We installed the first Gas Cartridge Recycling Program collector in a National Park. The equipment was delivered to the Caparaó National Park. From now on, all adventurers who pass through the Espírito Santo Gate will be able to dispose of their empty cartridges properly. When it’s full, our partner Caminhantes do Caparaó will take care of the disposal logistics together with the Aguapé Cooperative. We’re really happy about this historic moment. We hope to spread these collectors to all the National Parks soon!

We won the Mountain Protection Award!

On October 21, 2023 Gear Tips won the UIAA Mountain Protection Award! According to Pedro Lacaz Amaral, CEO of Gear Tips: “To have a project recognized internationally by the most important institution in world mountaineering is an honor! It was exciting to present the project to hundreds of people from over 40 countries! Even more exciting was realizing how much the project impressed everyone present! After the awards ceremony, I spent a few hours explaining the details of the project to various federations that were interested in developing a Gas Cartridge Recycling Program in their countries! I’d also like to thank the entire Gear Tips Outdoor team who, each in their own way, helped us achieve this recognition, the collection points and brands that support us and everyone who encourages us in some way.”

Collector at the Rio Mountain Festival

On October 17, the 18th edition of the Rio Mountain Festival, a renowned film festival that celebrates life outdoors, opened at the Banco do Brasil Cultural Center (CCBB). During all the days of the event, the Recycling Program’s cartridge collector was available at the entrance to the cinema, where anyone could dispose of their gas cartridges used on their camping trips correctly. To celebrate the festival and sustainability, we had the pleasure of welcoming those who designed and created the Recycling Program collector: Victor Cruz and Davi Rezende, as well as Bruno Negreiros, who is responsible for the program and Gear Tips’ social and environmental work.
